Abstract: |
Wetland ecosystems play crucial roles in regulating climate, purifying water, and preserving biodiversity. Aboveground biomass (AGB) of wetland vegetation is an important indicator of wetland ecological health, and accurately estimating AGB is essential for wetland conservation and restoration. This study utilizes multi-source remote sensing data (Landsat-8, Sentinel-2) and the Google Earth Engine platform to invert the AGB of vegetation in the Yellow River Delta wetland. By comparing five machine learning models, biomass models based on remote sensing bands, vegetation indices, and water indices are constructed. Combined with field sampling data, the impact of different remote sensing factors on AGB estimation is evaluated, ultimately achieving spatial distribution mapping of AGB in the Yellow River Delta wetland. The results show that the mean AGB range in the Diaokou River area is 112.05 g/m2 to 170.09 g/m2, and in the Qingshuigou area, it is 114.72 g/m2 to 165.47 g/m2. The AGB values of wetland vegetation in the Yellow River Delta range from 0 to 746 g/m2. Low AGB value areas (AGB≤304 g/m2) are mainly distributed in the tidal flat areas close to the sea, the medium AGB value range (304 g/m2≤AGB≤436 g/m2) areas are relatively concentrated and have the largest distribution area, and high AGB value areas (AGB≥436 g/m2) are mainly distributed on both sides of the river channels. The research results provide scientific evidence for the ecological protection and restoration of the Yellow River Delta wetland and offer important data support for wetland carbon storage assessment and climate change research. |
