| Abstract: |
| A new damage softening constitutive model for rocks is developed based on a new form of damage variable which is defined with rock micro-unit strength.Two parameters describing the damage variable can be determined according to the tri-axial tests of rocks.Results of a numerical example show that this damage softening constitutive model for rocks can reflect the strain softening characteristic of rocks. |
