| Abstract: |
| The soft subgrade with high fill of an express highway is improved by vacuum preloading method, Field observation results indicate that the improving effect is evident. Compared with the preloading method, the construction time of the vacuum preloading method is short, the strength of the subgrade soil increases quickly, the settlement of the subgrade is small and the embankment is stable. |
